Post Surgery...

Well I am finally feeling better after my surgery. I had surgery last tuesday on the 8th. I had a laproscopic ovarian cystectomy to remove a baseball size cyst from my right ovary!!! I couldn't believe it myself. I knew I hadn't been feeling normal with some cramping but I just blew it off and I finally went to the doctor...she did an exam and said she didn't notice anything but she said she wanted to send me to the radiologist the next day to see if I might have a tiny cyst or something...well the next day happened to be on my 25th birthday. So I went in still telling myself I had gas (yes very lady like I know) and when the ultrasound popped up with a HUGE black thing on the screen I knew it was not normal and of course freaked out. The next day I was told I needed surgery and vualah...two weeks later I was in the hospital having surgery for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I thought...granted it was still painful and even though i'm a new 25 year old I did cry. :) I had three little cuts...one in my bellybutton, one on my right front hip and one on the left front hip...the incisions on my hips are looking good...just bruised but my bellybutton is still in some pain. It still hurts to sit up straight. I have to remind myself I won't be back to normal over night...but I feel this experience has taught me alot. I had family and family friends help me out with the medical bills which was such a blessing. When I turned 25 I had to switch insurance companies which meant a WHOLE NEW deductable...blah. But I was blessed with many people who love me and wanted to help me out. It opened my eyes and showed me that even at a young age I have to be prepared for anything and so I have to start saving up even more of my money just in case. This is a boring first blog...but this is what's been going on for the past two weeks. But I did have a wonderful 25th birthday and even though I had this unexpected surprise I hope it's an awakening to a wonderful year!!
